Whenever you read about Anurag Kashyap, this movie always comes up. It is one of his first movies which never got released. At first, the Censor board objected to the drugs and violence in the movie and then the producer did not have any money. Frustrated, Anurag has just uploaded it on youtube. And thats where I watched it few months back.

In one line I think- This movie is better off unreleased. I doubt anyone would enjoy it.


The movie is about 4 friends (Kay Kay Menon, Aditya Shrivastava, Vijay Maurya, Joy Fernandes) who are members of a band. They are good for nothing, into drugs and mostly broke. The female member of their band is played by Tejaswini Kohlapure. They need money to release their album and kidnap another friend who himself thinks of the plot. He is killed by Kay Kay in a fit of anger... and then they kill his father... and a few cops... and then leave the city. And then it gets more and more confused... apparently Tejaswini and Kay Kay are lovers and planned to kill everyone and keep the money for themselves. They succeed in the end.

It is such a dark movie... no humour or glimmer of hope. Too dreary. Plus the story is nothing new. It would have been new and unique when it was shot but definitely not in 2005. I mean, a movie has to entertain. This is not even reality. It is just dark, dreary, violent. I did not enjoy it... at all and am an Anurag fan. Hell, I watched 'No Smoking' and liked it.
