Queen

I watched this flick on Friday night after reading all the reviews and well, loved it.

Kangana has killed it. But, let me not get ahead of myself.

Lets start at the beginning.

Shahid

I could not catch this flick in the theatre... It was a busy weekend and my hubby was not too keen. I had been looking for the DVD since its release. Why are DVDs released so late (Jan'14)??? Why can't the DVD be out in the market as soon as it is out of the theatres? It is surprising that such a highly rated movie did not run for the 2nd week anywhere. What is a movie buff like me supposed to do? Why can't there be separate theatres for such films?

I finally managed to find a good copy online. The earlier torrents were not so great and I waited for the good one.

Chittagong

This has been on my must watch list for quite sometime. I finally downloaded and watched it.

The movie is set in 1929 in Chittagong (now a part of Bangladesh). It is based on facts. In fact, the protagonist- Jhunku (Delzad Hiwale/Vijay Verma) was alive when the movie was made. It is about the uprising in Chittagong led by a school teacher (Manoj Bajpai) and his band of young rebels (all below 18). They beat the British... not once but twice. Of course, they got caught. Manoj Bajpai is hung while the others are sent to Andamans (kaala paani) jail. On getting released, Jhunku takes up the cause again and in the process loses the love of his life.
