Dil Dhadakne Do

I cannot believe I have to review this flick. It is bad enough I had to watch it.

Dil Dhadakne Do = Sooraj Barjatya + Karan Johar

That's it. That is the review because the movie sucks. To paraphrase from Orange is the new black, if shit was constipated and it took a dump... that shit would be called Dil Dhadakne Do. I know it makes no sense, that is why we have imagination.

Luck By Chance

I carried 2 movies for my Kolkata trip - Luck By Chance and Namesake. Both I have watched earlier. Both are my all time favourites 
And then I realized Air India has Luck By Chance and watched it there instead.

I don't remember the first time I watched this flick but have seen it soooo many times since. It is Zoya Akhtar's best movie and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. Yep... better than ZDNM. And it is the most accurate and realistic portrayal of Bollywood. Is Bollywood as fickle as we hear it is? Yes... it is... mostly. 

Bombay Talkies

This movie is supposed to be a celebration of 100 years of cinema. It is a collection of 4 short films by- Karan Johar, Dibakar Banerjee, Zoya Akhtar and Anurag Kashyap.


Why these 4? I don't know. Zoya is only 2 films old... Dibakar is only 3-4 films old... Do they represent Bollywood? Karan and Anurag do... the former makes formula movies... the latter makes cutting edge movies.

I was not convinced by the concept but the rave reviews pulled me into the theatre.
