Bhumika : The Role

This is another movie Naseeruddin has mentioned in his autobiography. He has a very short role in this one.
Bhumika stars Smita Patil, Amol Palekar, Naseeruddin Shah, Amrish Puri, Dina Pathak, Anant Nag and  Kulbhushan Kharbanda and has been directed by Shyam Benegal.
It won Filmfare Award for Best Movie and two National awards.
The movie is based on the memoirs of a Marathi actress 'Hansa Wadkar'. It is a very bold movie for its times. In 2014, the story does not seem unique or earth shattering but in 1977 it was probably first of its kind.

Nishant

I wanted to watch this flick after reading Naseeruddin Shah's autobiography.
The movie also stars Girish Karnad, Shabana Azmi, Amrish Puri, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Smita Patil and is directed by Shyam Benegal. In fact, this is Naseer's and Smita's first film.

Bazaar

I came across this flick on itunes and decided to watch it. It stars Naseeruddin Shah, Smita Patil, Farooq Shaikh, Supriya Pathak and Bharat Kapoor. It released in 1982 (before I was born) and addresses the issue of men from Gulf buying young, nubile girls from poor parents.
The issue still remains... I know of women who were/almost were given off to rich, not so great men (old/fat/balding) because the parents were poor.

Finding Fanny

I watched this flick last weekend but have taken my own sweet time to write the review. Because I have been ill.. and lazy... and not sure what to write.
The movie stars Deepika Padukone, Dimple Kapadia, Pankaj Kapur, Naseeruddin Shah and Arjun Kapoor.

Dedh Ishqiya

I was so happy reading the positive reviews for this flick. In fact, rediff.com has given it 5 stars. I remember telling my hubby that if this movie is a flop, Madhuri's movie career is over. A lot is riding over this one. She has received great reviews everywhere. We spent 600 bucks and 3 hours of a weekend to watch it.

I was disappointed.... not because the movie is bad... it is good... not great. I'd prefer to watch it sometime on TV than spend money in a theatre.
