Parinda

I know.. I know.. everyone has watched this movie and everyone remembers the song 'Tumse Milke' but while watching this video on a talk at Mumbai Film Festival where Anurag Kashyap presented 'Parinda' movie I wanted to watch it again. And so I did. 

Parinda is the story of the underworld in Mumbai. It was probably the only realistic gangster movie of those times... way before Ram Gopal Varma made gansgters look 'cool'.

Happy New Year

I watched Happy New Year last night... not in the theatre. There are some actors who generally plays themselves or a version of their character in every movie - Salman, Ajay Devgan and Shahrukh... I do not spend money on their movies. I cannot give my money to someone who assumes am dumb.

To get through the movie I did a twitter review and that is what am going to post here.

I watched this flick today... after KC's review that its good.
What pulled me in -

In the first 20 mins of the movie all the characters are introduced. I was happy with the fast pace since it works well in crime thrillers. The story is about 2 families- one of cops and another of criminals. Arjun Kapoor is in a double role... 1 is in cop family and another in criminals' family. 1 is exchanged with another to bring the criminals' downfall. Unfortunately, everyone is involved in criminal activities.
The 1st half is fast paced and very good. The 2nd half goes into typical 'Bollywood' territory... too many emotions... too many people killing each other...
