I had decided not to watch this movie after Sahil Rizwan (of The Vigil Idiot fame... don't know Vigil Idiot? You are living under a rock) posted a nasty comment on twitter. "Thank God"; I thought. "Money saved". But then Anupama Chopra gave it 3 stars. AC is the most reliable reviewer there is. Even though she is married to Vidhu Vinod Chopra and so is connected to Bollywood, her reviews are unbiased. In the times of paid reviews she is an anomaly.

Daawat-e-Ishq

So after deciding not to watch another movie I downloaded this flick. How cool is it when copies are available on the same day?
Before I write the review... we turned it off in 45 minutes.

Parineeti Chopra is studying in college and works as a sales girl at Bata. Bata eventually fires her for taking an emergency sick leave. Why have they not sued or did they deliberately want to show themselves as assholes?

Hasee Toh Phasee

I read good reviews on rediff.com and was looking forward to it. In an interview, Parineeti was describing her character in the movie and it sounded very interesting and different.

The movie has been directed by Vinil Mathew and produced by Anurag Kashyap and Karan Johar. It is nice to see these 2 guys come together... both excel in their type of film making. I am not a Karan fan but lets face it... his movies work.

Coming to this flick... it is a romantic comedy about 2 hatke people... Siddharth Malhotra as Nikhil is trying too hard... to make others happy... to get his career in order... to please his fiancee.

Shudh Desi Romance

I just watched this flick. It was either this or Zanjeer and I hate remakes. They are unnecessary.
What is the movie about? It is about today's confused young people... how they fall in and fall out of love... and where marriage fits in (if at all) in the scheme of things.
