Dil Dhadakne Do

I cannot believe I have to review this flick. It is bad enough I had to watch it.

Dil Dhadakne Do = Sooraj Barjatya + Karan Johar

That's it. That is the review because the movie sucks. To paraphrase from Orange is the new black, if shit was constipated and it took a dump... that shit would be called Dil Dhadakne Do. I know it makes no sense, that is why we have imagination.

Mary Kom

I decided to post this review a few days after watching it because I wanted the noise around the movie to settle down. I am finally active on twitter and sometimes it can get very noisy.

This is one of those movies hubby and I watched without checking reviews. I wouldn't have watched it if the reviews were bad but he was adamant. And since he is really adamant about a movie I didn't really bother whether it is good or bad.

The good part is Mary Kom is still in the news so it is the right time for this movie. When Bhaag Milkha Bhaag was made not everyone had heard of him. I definitely didn't know who he was. Btw, there will be a lot of comparisons between BMB and MK.

Disclosure

KC asked me to watch this flick. According to him, Inkaar has been taken from this movie. Michael Douglas and Demi Moore and sexual harassment. Sounded interesting.

No... Inkaar has not been copied from this one. I think Andaz which stars Priyanka Chopra, Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor is based on this flick.

Shootout at Wadala

We watched this movie over the weekend. It was a week late but it wasn't a movie I was very much looking forward to... I didn't mind watching it a week late or catching it on TV.

The movie is about a small time gangster Manya Surve and is loosely based on the book by Hussain Zaidi- 'From Dongri to Dubai'.
What I was looking forward to was John's new avatar... specially since he has garnered good reviews.
What is the story? The usual... good boy turns bad due to injustice meted out to him... becomes a small time gangster and is killed by the good cops.

What makes it entertaining is:
- Excellence actors like John, Anil Kapoor, Ronit Roy etc
- 2 item songs
- Lets admit it... anything related to gangsters is entertaining
